59. What is considered a dental emergency for a child?
Emergency Dental

A dental emergency is any situation that needs immediate care to relieve pain, stop bleeding, or prevent further damage. Common emergencies in kids include:
-Knocked-out tooth – Permanent teeth need prompt attention to increase the chance of saving them
-Severe toothache or swelling – May indicate infection that requires urgent treatment
-Broken, chipped, or cracked teeth – Especially if sharp edges could cause injury
-Bleeding that won’t stop – From trauma or injury inside the mouth
-Injuries to gums, lips, or tongue – Cuts or lacerations that might need stitches
If your child experiences any of these, contact our office right away. Quick action, especially with knocked-out permanent teeth, can make a big difference in saving the tooth and preventing complications.
